Gaynor Keeble and Michael Clifton-Thompson are two of the country’s most versatile singers. Between them, they have sung with virtually all the major opera houses including the Royal Opera House, Welsh National Opera, English National Opera, D’Oyly Carte Opera and Opera North. They are the principal singers with Opera d’Amore, working together frequently as a duo. Additional singers may be added to form a quartet, allowing for a more expansive repertoire.
Whether it be for an evening opera dinner, wedding reception or party, Opera d’Amore can provide the perfect balance of music from opera or Songs from the Shows.
Gaynor Keeble won scholarships to the University of Warwick and the Royal Academy of Music. She recently made her debut with English National Opera as Katisha, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Third Lady Die Zauberflöte where she has also performed Voice of the Mother Tales of Hoffmann, and at Opera North where she has sung Mother/Witch Hansel and Gretel and Gertrude Romeo and Juliet. Other roles include Baba the Turk and Marchese La Fille du Regiment (English Touring Opera), Mrs Sedley Peter Grimes with the CBSO and Hippolyta A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Gaynor’s recordings include Councillor’s Wife Osud conducted by Sir Charles Mackerras for EMI, and Hebe MS Pinafore, Patience and Yeomen of the Guard for TER records. Recent and future highlights include Third Lady Die Zauberflöte at Covent Garden, Amneris in a concert performance of Aida, and Marcellina The Marriage of Figaro and Mistress Quickly Falstaff for Mid Wales Opera conducted by Nicholas Cleobury.
